Care Compass: Supporting Employees with Care Responsibilities

Welcome to Care Compass: Supporting Employees with Care Responsibilities

Care Compass is a two-part learning and diagnostic tool created by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) with the assistance of Turkiye Donor Fund and People 1st International to help organisations better support employees with caregiving responsibilities.

It is designed for HR professionals, diversity and inclusion leads, people managers and senior leaders seeking to assess their current approach and take practical steps to improve it.

What does Care Compass include?

1. Interactive eLearning tool
The self-paced modules within the eLearning tool explores the business case for caregiving support, introduces key principles of inclusive policy and practice and provides real-world examples. It includes short activities, reflection points and a final quiz to consolidate learning.

2. Action planning tool
This interactive diagnostic helps organisations reflect on current policies and practices through a short series of yes/no questions.

  • Yes answers unlock suggestions to build on existing strengths.

  • No answers offer starting points and practical ideas to begin shaping a more supportive environment.

Access the action planning tool directly here.

How can Care Compass be used?

Care Compass is highly flexible and can be adapted to suit organisational needs and time availability:

  • Asynchronous learning: Individuals or HR teams can complete the tool independently at their own pace. Progress is saved automatically allowing users to return at any time.

  • Self-guided team sessions: HR or leadership teams can use the content as the basis for facilitated internal workshops to review current caregiving support and shape future caregiving strategies.

  • Strategic planning tool – Larger organisations can use Care Compass as a structured starting point for designing or strengthening a comprehensive caregiving support strategy.
